The Befriending Class - Relatives for Justice

Since Christmas Relatives for Justice has run a class for ‘Befrienders’, under the excellent tutelage of tutor Margaret Riddels. Eight participants, all of whom were either bereaved, injured or care for some one who has been injured as a result of our conflict, completed this 12 week course. Relatives were supported in their journey by identifying their trauma and acknowledging the deep impact their experiences have had on their lives and the lives of their families. All emerged having thoroughly enjoyed their training and have gained a deeper understanding of how with the proper support, victims/survivors can begin to move to a safer place where healing can begin. Participants have also expressed the wish to undertake further training in this area and have committed their time on a voluntary basis to RFJ.
