JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Clinical Lead

Post:                                  Clinical Lead

Responsible to:               Deputy Director

Main purpose of job: The Clinical Lead will oversee the delivery of therapeutic services within a multidisciplinary approach. They will be responsible for the overall management, governance, and safe delivery of all clinical services, ensuring professional and ethical excellence across all service platforms.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Direct, lead and manage the development and provision of therapeutic services, ensuring timely, effective and appropriate service provision.
  2. Line management of Sessional Counsellors to include supervision and appraisal reviews with the practitioners and support worker teams.
  3. To lead, support and work with other members of the team on day-to-day business to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  4. To undertake clinical assessments for referrals into statutory services.
  5. To carry out initial triage assessments of referrals made to the project to assess suitability for counselling and other needs based on clinical risk strategy.
  6. To maintain confidential, professional and appropriate records of all client contact.
  7. Monitor and keep under review external clinical supervision provision for both staff and practitioners.
  8. Undertake regular clinical audit functions to include monitoring of supervision, CPD, insurance and professional accreditation/membership for staff and sessional practitioners.
  9. Provide robust clinical governance by ensuring compliance with all aspects of GDPR, subject access request and document retention policies.
  10. Provide clinical support across the therapeutic services team to manage complex cases and risk management.
  11. Review, implement, monitor and disseminate on an ongoing basis best practice and risk management.
  12. Work collaboratively with Relatives for Justice to support and influence the development of service provision and to contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives.
  13. Establish and maintain effective links with other community/voluntary/statutory service providers.
  14. Work in partnership with other members of the team as required to prepare funding bids and contract submissions.
  15. Ensure organisational policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to, including taking responsibility for keeping relevant policies and protocols up to date.
  16. To oversee that all evaluation systems and processes such as CORENet are completed fully by the practitioner team.
  17. Keep evaluation processes under review and implement any changes or processes that increase the robustness of measuring the impact of service delivery in consultation with the Deputy Director.
  18. Assist with Relatives for Justice BACP organisational service accreditation maintenance, ensuring that all quality assurance/monitoring procedures are fully completed including the submission of annual monitoring reports.
  19. To oversee and maintain adequate records of clinical work and provide appropriate statistical returns and to assist with the completion of reports where necessary.
  20. Review and approve correspondence to third party professionals.
  21. Prepare monthly reports for the Deputy Director.
  22. To attend external clinical supervision on a monthly basis.
  23. To maintain personal membership with BACP (or equivalent).
  24. To attend regular team meetings and line management.
  25. To maintain a professional attitude at all times towards clients, staff and all those in contact with Relatives for Justice.

Terms and Conditions:

  • 39 hours per week (including unsociable hours for which time off in lieu will be given)
  • 21 (working) days annual leave per year (plus statutory days)
  • Relatives for Justice does not offer overtime payments but operate a time in lieu policy.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

  1. Registered and Accredited Member of BACP (or equivalent), with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  2. Knowledge and experience of managing client risk, and maintaining boundaries and confidentiality appropriately.
  3. Minimum 2 years’ experience of clinically supervising counsellors/psychotherapists.
  4. Extensive experience in clinical assessment.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with trauma.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other statutory/community/voluntary groups.
  7. Working knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluating clinical outcomes.
  8. Previous experience of using computerised monitoring & evaluation systems
  9. An understanding of a range of presenting issues and suitable interventions within a counselling setting.
  10. Ability to work autonomously and with initiative, including effective prioritisation of tasks and ability to work to agreed aims and objectives.
  11. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of line management. Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  12. Ability to work flexible hours (including occasional out of hours work).
  13. Willingness to undertake training required for the post.
  14. Ability to create and sustain effective working relationships and build consensus with key stakeholders.
  15. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  16. Sound knowledge of ICT including all Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook, internet etc.).
  17. Excellent interpersonal skills to work within a team and build good working relationships .
  18. Excellent management and organisational and skills.
  19. Excellent understanding of intergenerational impact of the conflict
  20. Excellent understanding of transitional processes for victims of the conflict

Therapeutic Programme Coordinator X 2

These posts offer an exciting opportunity for persons committed to the wellbeing of victims and survivors. Postholders will coordinate referrals for counselling and clinical support and ensure ongoing support to those engaging in therapeutic programmes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Therapeutic Programme Coordinators x 2

Post:                            Therapeutic Programme Coordinator

Responsible to:          Clinical Lead

Main Duties:        

  • The coordination of counselling and psychotherapy services of Relatives for Justice for victims and survivors of the conflict.
  • To work with the Clinical Lead in implementing, coordinating and delivering therapeutic support services, and in further designing and developing future support services strategy to be responsive to meet the evolving needs of victims and survivors.
  • To receive inhouse and external referrals for counselling in Relatives for Justice.
  • To work closely with the Clinical Lead in making referrals for clinical assessments, and to external partners and agencies.
  • To work with the organisation’s health and wellbeing workers to ensure smooth referral and support systems for members of RFJ.
  • To attend Staff Team meetings
  • To attend monthly supervision meetings with the Clinical Lead and monthly off line supervision meetings
  • To develop tools and aids for understanding the effects of conflict related trauma and its effects.
  • To oversee therapeutic compliance with good governance standards, in particular with accreditation bodies such as BACP.
  • To act as the organisational liaison between families in a therapeutic relationship in RFJ.
  • To liaise with the various partnership organisations, networks, statutory providers, and other relevant bodies with responsibility for victims and survivors ensuring that RFJ membership are represented and that support services are adequately resourced and targeted effectively.

  • An in-depth proven understanding of the impact of the conflict on the bereaved and injured
  • Working knowledge of implementation of good governance and accreditation standards in the field of victims and survivors and therapeutic intervention
  • Awareness of child protection frameworks
  • Extensive knowledge of outcome-based monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Extensive experience of and commitment to partnership and multi-agency working

Payment Scheme For The Permanently Disabled Advice Worker x2

Salary:  (2017) SO1  POINT 29

Hours per week:  39.00

 

RFJ seeks to employ a suitably qualified person for the post of advice worker supporting applicants to the Payments Scheme for the Permanently Disabled as a result of the conflict.

Responsibilities:

  1. To provide information and advice on the scheme for injured of the conflict
  2. Maintain an ongoing caseload associated with the position
  3. Maximise applicants income
  4. Make home visits in appropriate cases to the homes of persons seeking to make an application
  5. Provide applicants with representation to the Payment’s Board
  6. Research and collate supporting evidence of conflict harm and injury on behalf of applicants
  7. Mediate and negotiate with appropriate agencies in the preparation and presentation of applications and appeals
  8. Participate in regular training programmes
  9. Provide regular reports on applicant representation for the Deputy Director
  10. Attend and participate in team meetings
  11. Attend monthly supervision with the Deputy Director and receive monthly off-line supervision
  12. Promote and develop partnership working to increase the efficiency of advice services to members of Relatives for Justice
  13. Be responsible for the dynamic recording, collation and provision of statistical data and reports through outcome based monitoring and evaluation systems
  14. Meet or exceed all outcomes set for the project by due dates
  15. Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management

 

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant Third Level Degree and/or minimum three years paid employment working with victims and survivors in advocacy work
  • Awareness and understanding of how rights to reparations and advice issues impact the victims and survivors of conflict.
  • Excellent understanding of the nature of conflict harms and physical and psychological injury, conflict trauma and its impact.
  • Experience of collating archive materials and evidence on behalf of victims and survivors
  • Experience of giving advice on reparative schemes available to victims and survivors.
  • The ability to interpret and explain clearly relevant legislation in meaningful ways.
  • Working experience of computer programmes e.g. Word and Excel
  • At least two years experience of working with victims and survivors of conflict in paid or unpaid capacity.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing.
  • Ability to prepare high quality reviews and reports.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

This exciting role will manage our team of four caseworkers in providing gold standard advice to victims and survivors applying to the Payments Scheme for the Permanently Disabled of the conflict.
