The inquest into the death of Paul ‘Topper’ Thompson had a brief case management hearing last week to prepare for the Public Interest Immunity hearing on the 7th of February.
- Despite some small redaction issues, all PSNI and Ministry of Defence materials will be provided to the Coroner by the 31st of January.
- Between now and the 7th of February, lawyers will discuss and agree upon the scope of the inquest. This will remain under constant review throughout the inquest.
- Medical evaluations are ongoing for a State witness. The central issue is physical accommodations in the court, and they do not expect any issues with the witness’s mental or psychological capacity.
The inquest resumes in full on the 26th of February.
