When families unite

Families take all the seats in the public gallery at today’s policing board meeting

Today families from across the North went to tell the Policing Board that they have been treated disgracefully by the HET and the Chief Constable and will not accept the HET anymore. Families affected by the British army also stated that they will not have the PSNI and any retired and rehired RUC members examine the killings of their loved ones.

They state clearly that they want an independent and effective investigation mechanism put in place forthwith. They have been traumatised by a process that has turned out to be not only ineffective but illegal. They cannot wait. They need the truth now.

That is their right. That is the state’s legal obligation.
