Appeal for Information

Two of our families have spoken to us about a bombing of a Daly’s Bar on the Falls Road in 1976. There is a lot of uncertainty, however, as to where it was exactly: for example, was it at the corner of Cupar Street (where the subsequent Rebel’s Rest was until recently) or at the corner of Conway Street where the Jobs and Benefits office is now located? Or was it somewhere else?

The second point is that we can’t find any reference to the bombing in any of the newspapers so we can’t tie down the date of the bombing.

We’d be grateful if anyone could assist with information regarding the location of the Daly’s Bar and the incident of the bombing, the number of casualties and the scale of the damage done to the bar.
