New Friendships on long road to justice

Clare Rogan from Loughinisland and John Kelly from Derry

Today the families affected by the Loughinisland Massacre in County Down with RFJ met the families affected by Bloody Sunday in Derry.

They shared stories of the long and difficult personal journeys to justice which they have all been forced to walk and offered each other on going solidarity and friendship.

The picture above shows the Loughinisland families with RFJ Director Mark Thompson and their solicitor Niall Murphy (RFJ’s family support worker for Down Liam Lappin is behind the lense!) with the Bloody Sunday families. These are families who in another life may never have met and may not even have that much in common – it is their common experience that forged an immediate bond today.
