PPS decision on Stakeknife Perjury files

This is the reasoning of the Public Prosecution Service for not taking forward charges of perjury and misconduct in public office in the Operation Kenova investigation of the activities of Stakeknife and those who ran this state agent.

The decision not to take forward charges of perjury against the agent widely believed to be Mr Freddie Scappaticci and charges of misconduct in public office regarding two members of Security Service and one former employee of the PPS is disgraceful.

Paragraphs 3/4 raise issues of process and fly in the face of assurances that this investigation would be an independent process.

Families are asking if justice and truth are possible when state agents and their handlers are the subject of inquiry.
