Press Release Response to BBC report that HET Boss to go by December

In response to the BBC report that the Chief Constable Matt Baggott has informed the Policing Board that there will be a new leadership team introduced to the Historical Enquiries Team and that the current director Dave Cox will resign in December, Mark Thompson, Director of Relatives for Justice has said:
“Removing the HET Director and senior staff will not suffice in addressing the fundamental and systemic problems that lie at the very heart of the HET.
“Such actions are superficial and cosmetic as the real problem rests with the leadership and intelligence section of the PSNI that in effect created, oversaw and covered the illegal policy and practice of the HET in respect of killings by the British army.”
